Do you need it?
If you are trying to decide whether or not your residential property needs pressure washing a good place to start is by walking outside and taking a look around. Does your driveway, sidewalks, walk-ups or walls have a layer of dirt or stain? If so then it may be time for a cleaning. Another idea is to look at old pictures of your house and see if the concrete was brighter, etc. Usually if you have owned a home for a year or more you will be able to see a drastic difference by some attention with a state of the art pressure washer. Take a close look at the roof of your awning, or the cracks in your sidewalk and you are sure to see areas for improvement. If you have dogs, or small children that like to play outside, look into pressure washing opposed to environmentally harmful chemicals when destroying vegetation in or on hard surfaces such as brick, concrete, wood and even tile.
Tips to help your own home
Tip number 1: Buy or rent the right machine. We recommend to only buy a motorized pressure washer. If you are planning on using this machine for years to come, motorized is the way to go. For a homeowner, we do not recommend breaking the bank, however you get what you pay for. Make sure to buy from a trusted company and find a machine that is priced in the middle of their selection. When in doubt, read reviews.
Tip number 2: Be careful. Power washers can be dangerous when not handled properly. Keep away from children, especially when running, and never point the nozzle towards anyone. If this is your first time, practice on the driveway or other concrete surface that will not be easily damaged.
Tip number 3: Choose the correct nozzle/setting. There are different types of nozzles that you can use when power washing. The lower the degree, the more precise and hard hitting the spray will be. When choosing which one to use, start with a high degree and work your way down until you find the one that cleans your surface the best.
